PICKING UP
Pick up: at Spotlight Hotel. 184 Cong Quynh street, Pham Ngu Lao ward, district 1, HCMc.
I picked up my guests at the hotel, we introduced ourselves and we book a car to Ben Thanh market.

THE TOUR

In the market, I introduced some special stuffs of Vietnam such as Ao dai, silk, Non la, coffee bean, etc. My guests wanted to buy some coconut flakes but they looked smaller than my guests expected so they didn’t buy . Then they bought black pepper.

They were surprised with raw meat and fish sold in the market without in fridge, I explained them that local market usually sold raw meat and fish like that because people wanted to have fresh food everyday so they had to buy it early in the morning and all raw meat was sold soon so they didn’t need to keep it in fridge. Next, we moved to Nguyen Hue walking street, I told my guests about People Committee building, the oldest apartment block in that street, Pitexco tower, etc. Then, we walked past the Opera House, I let them know about structure and function of that house like in which performed Cai Luong or used for the Lower House of Republic of South Vietnam.

We came to the Notre Dame Basilica the church was designed as Notre Dame in Paris with the combination between Gothic and Roman style to make it different they built bell towers. After that, we were in Centre Post Office which place was design as a train station. My guests would like to meet polyglot writer Dương Văn Ngộ but he had days off on Saturday and Sunday so we couldn’t see him there. In there, they also bought some postcards to give to their relatives. Last, we walked around the book street and finally went to Independent Palace. In the Palace I told them about the structure and some stories in there. My guests were very friendly and willing to share their knowledge to me.
