[ Tour Report ] Tour name: China Town

Guide: Thủy Trúc

Guest: Leo Scarfe ( From London, England )
Time: 8:00 AM, Jan 26th, 2018
Pickup address: Hannah’s House, 290/58 Nam Kỳ Khởi Nghĩa Street, District 3

Picking up

My tour ‘s beginning was a funny misunderstanding when I confused my guest Lion as a girl – Jenna, who had booked the tour. After recognizing each other, we laughed. That made our tour start in a comfortable way.

During the tour

First, we decided to visit Thiên Hậu temple. Because of the far distance from the hotel to the destination, we booked a Grab Taxi to arrive there. All-time sitting in a taxi, I tried to create a nice impression to Lion with some thrilling facts in Viet Nam like eating dog, cat, worm and so on. My guest also shared his last journey to a lot of countries with me. I caught on that his demand was to compare the China Town in Saigon and others in Hongkong, Singapore, and England.

While visiting Thiên Hậu temple, Lion showed me that he was so interested in Chinese and Vietnamese legend as well as culture. Although he used to come by some temples before, he didn’t know who is worshipped there. The fact about Vietnamese telepaths who were able to connect ghosts and find soldiers’ bones attracted Lion mostly.

Next, we moved to discover Nghĩa An Hội Quán pagoda. Besides pieces of information about Quan Công, Lion was curious about the sortilege.

Xã Tây market was our next destination on China Town tour. Like other foreigners, Lion was surprised when a frog jumped out of the bowl. He took photos of livestock’s organ.

Our tour would end at 10:30 after walking around the market, Lion wanted to have lunch in a China restaurant. We spent a half of an hour on walking there. When waiting for our lunch, Lion taught me a video about the difference between Northern and Southern accent in England. Fortunately, our time wasn’t wasteful thanks to the delicious flavor of shrimp dumpling noodle dish. He reminded me to share our photos with each other. I felt this tour like a combination of China Town and Street food tour :)).

Ending

After the tour, I realized that I always got new valuable things whenever I joined a tour. I also felt grateful for knowledge as well as kindness of my guest, Lion. Hope my next tour will be soon
