Tan Son Nhat Airport

Tan Son Nhat Airport (formerly known as Tan Son Nhut Airport) is one of the most important military-civilian airport in South Vietnam at that time. Besides civilian purposes, Tan Son Nhat Airport was also considered as an important airbase not only of the Saigon army, but also of the US troops in South Vietnam and Southeast Asia. During the April 30th event, attacking and occupying Tan Son Nhat Airport was one of the most important missions of the liberation army from the North West, because occupying Tan Son Nhat also destroyed the air force of the Saigon Army.

Ho Chi Minh City Television Head Office

Ho Chi Minh City Television head office is situated at 14 Dinh Tien Hoang, District 1, Ho Chi Minh city.

During the April 30th event, it was here that the unconditional surrender of President Duong Van Minh (the current President of the Republic of Vietnam) was issued. And also from that moment The Republic of Vietnam collapses completely.

Con Dao Prison

Côn Đảo Prison, also known as Côn Sơn Prison, is a prison on Côn Sơn Island – the largest island of the Côn Đảo archipelago in

southern Vietnam ( today it is in Bà Rịa–Vũng Tàu Province). The prison was built in 1861 by the French colonists to jail those considered specially dangerous to the colonial government. The most famous site in this prison are the “tiger cages”. During the Vietnam War, prisoners who had been held at the prison in the 1960s and 70s were abused and tortured. The April 30th, 1975 event helped the prisoners to find their way back to freedom.

Nowadays, Con Dao is not just a historical site, but also an attraction that appeals to many visitors from all over the world. Coming here is to find the root, to remember the revolutionary tradition of forefather’s generation, and to express gratefulness for the sacrifice of the country.

Independent Palace

The Independence Palace, also known as Reunification Palace, was built on the site of the former Norodom Palace. It is a landmark in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam. It was designed by architect Ngô Viết Thụ and was the home and workplace of the President of South Vietnam during the Vietnam War. It was the site of the end of the Vietnam War during the Fall of Saigon on April 30th, 1975, when a North Vietnamese Army tank crashed through its gates. Nowadays, it is an interesting place in Ho Chi Minh city and most visitors want to enter this place.
